About Glucovance 2.5/500mg Tablet

Glucovance 2.5/500mg Tablet is a combination medication that is used in conjunction with proper diet and exercise regimen to control high blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Glucovance 2.5/500mg Tablet may also be used with other diabetes medications.

How effective is Glucovance 2.5/500mg Tablet?

Glucovance 2.5/500mg Tablet contains two medications, Glyburide and Metformin. Glyburide belongs to the sulfonylureas class of drugs. It works by lowering the high blood sugar and causing the release of the body’s natural insulin. It decreases the amount of sugar a patient’s liver makes. Metformin works by decreasing the amount of sugar that the patient’s liver makes and their stomach/intestines absorb. Both medications work by helping restore the body’s proper response to the insulin he or she naturally produces.
