Salmeterol belongs to a group of medicines known as long-acting beta-agonists (LABAs), which show effectiveness by opening and relaxing air passages in the lungs. Fluticasone belongs to a group of medicines known as corticosteroids which show effectiveness by blocking the release of natural substances that cause allergy symptoms.
