About Xifaxa 550mg Tablet

Xifaxa 550mg Tablet is used for the treatment of diarrhoea caused by the common bacteria known as E. colic (traveller’s diarrhoea). This tablet is also used for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea. Xifaxa 550mg is also used to treat brain problems caused by hepatic encephalopathy.

How effective is Xifaxa 550mg?

Xifaxa 550mg Tablet is composed of Rifaximin, which belongs to a group of medicines known as antibiotics. Xifaxa shows effectiveness by stopping the growth of bacteria and eventually kill them. This tablet is effective only against bacterial infections and will not work for viral infections, like the common cold and flu. Xifaxa will not show effectiveness for bloody diarrhoea.
